Aug. 28, 2009 - [Hour 1 teasers and promos] Lynne Duffus of BFBS Radio (British Forces Broadcasting Service) interviews Steve Newman of ActivSkin Legwear for Men about 'mantyhose' or tights for men.   Tights (in the British usage, aka pantyhose in the U.S.) for men are gaining in popularity in Britain, and have begun to be noticed in the UK media of late.

Oct. 28, 2009 - Steve Newman had agreed to be interviewed by Eric Muller of The Mancow Show in Chicago.  The website showed his name alongside the word, "Mantyhose" for the day's show.  Mancow had made several 'teaser' plugs for the upcoming interview, about an hour away, 20 minutes out, and just before the last commercial break.  The studio telephoned Mr. Newman's house and the interview took place. 
As is his 'shock jock' habit, the interview was somewhat combative, with Mancow looking to, "mock, ridicule, and hang up" as he put it during the interview.  However, since Newman stayed cool and collected, and rationally explained the background behind the men's legwear trend, Mancow failed to make him look foolish.  So far, so good.  However, it was discovered only later that the interview never made it to the on-air feed.  Mancow had cowardly pulled the interview at the last second, since he couldn't use it as he'd planned.  Rather than let the true story get out in front of his listeners, he simply pulled it--with no regard whatsoever for the time spent preparing for this interview, etc. 
Mancow showed himself to be a hypocrite when it comes to the "Free Speech Network".  (The audio file includes Mancow's 'teaser' comments leading up to the non-existent interview)

Sept. 30, 2009 - Steve Newman, director of marketing and publicity for ActivSkin Men's Legwear, was interviewed by Kathy Philips and her co-host on Anchorage, Alaska's AM Talk Radio station.  The conversation included discussion of how many hunters wear pantyhose as a base layer for protection from the cold, and how ActivSkin provides a masculine alternative that's comfortable and low-cost.  Also, the discusssion focused on how men's support hosiery fills a need for men to have something to relieve the aching and leg cramps that so often come about as they get a little older, or if they work in jobs that keep them on their feet all day.

Aug. 28, 2009 - Lynne Duffus of BFBS Radio (British Forces Broadcasting Service) interviews Steve Newman of ActivSkin Legwear for Men about 'mantyhose' or tights for men.   Tights (in the British usage, aka pantyhose in the U.S.) for men are gaining in popularity in Britain, and have begun to be noticed in the UK media of late.  During this interview, Lynne mentioned that the U.S. military and Her Majesty's military forces have used tights to ward off sand fleas in the Mideast, as well as to avoid chafing and blisters when on long marches in the field.

Nov. 10, 2009 - Steve Newman, Director of Marketing for ActivSkin Legwear for Men, was interviewed by the hosts of LA Radio’s “Broad Topics” show.  The ladies: Laura Nickerson, Kelly Lohman, Jillian Boyce and Joanne Rizza took a very open-minded perspective on this emerging trend.  The 17-minutes of on-air conversation covered most of the major aspects of men’s legwear and the variety of practical benefits men are discovering in the new legwear.   The ladies made the experience quite enjoyable, as we discussed how receptive wives might be to their husband's wearing 'mantyhose'; how support hosiery can help leg circulation, what differences exist between men's and women't pantyhose, and much more...

Sept. 25, 2009 - Andrew Garland of BBC Radio in Kent interviews Steve Newman, publicist and marketing director for ActivSkin, the world's first company to sell sheer and opaque tights made especially for men.  Because of recent UK press stories related to a line of 'Mantihose' being introduced in one of the leading London department stores, interest in men's tights has skyrocketed recently.  Although not a new phenomenon in the U.S., the British seem to have been taken completely be surprise to learn that so many have been wearing tights under their trousers for years.  Reasons include for poor leg circulation, improved stamina in athletics, or warmth-without-bulk in outdoor settings.
